Thursday - 19th May 2011

After arrival to Zurich by coach of Student Agency I changed to Regio Express to Aarau at Zurich main railway station, in Aarau I was several minutes after eleven. At the railway station I have echanged my Euros and bought s.c. Swiss Pass with validity from Saturday 21st May 2011. After lunch (Ravioli with cucumber salad, which were cooked by Thomas) we went together to the city to supermarket Coop in order to buy food for tomorrow. Afterwards I had a bath and before nine I fell a sleep. Meanwhile Thomas was preparing with the choir, orchestra and soloists for the concert, which was on Friday.

Friday - 20th May 2011 - Aarau and the concert of Aarauer Vokalisten

I woke up around nine and then we went together with Thomas to the city. At first we went to the post office in order to buy stamps and post cards, meanwhile I was taking pictures. Afterwards we went to the supermarket Coop to buy food for lunch and also for Saturday, because we wanted to go to the south to canton of Ticino in order to visit "Swiss Miniature" which is mini model of Switzerland in village Melide by the Lake of Lugano. At eight o'clock in the evening the concert called Himmelfahrtoratorium started. Thomas is member of Aarauer Vokalisten and he sang accompanied by professional orchestra and soloists. It's a pitty because of professionals I couldn't take pictures and film during the concert, because there could be complaints about the copyright. Organizing of one such concert costs roughly 50 000 Swiss francs. Certainly there are sponsors and among them are also the parents of Thomas, who gave me ticket in the value of 45 CHF. The concert was a great atmosphere, lasted an hour and three in the fourth and I tried to watch the text that was sung in German from very nicely printed program. The concert was on the works of Johann Sebastian Bach and his son Carl Philip Emanuel bearing the general name Himmelfahrt.
